About VeniceTravelPlanner.com

I've been visiting Venice Florida since 1959 when I was 14 years old. The city has changed a lot in that time, mostly for the better, but the things that made Venice a great place to visit—or to live—are all still there: friendly people, enjoyable climate, excellent beaches, good restaurants, abundant bird life, great boating and fishing, and lots more.

Sunset on the Beach, Venice, Florida

As a kid, I'd walk from my Venice home to the Venice Arena to see a discounted dress rehearsal of the fabulous Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, which made its winter home in Venice between annual warm-weather touring seasons. For many of the performers, Venice FL was home.

I don't see many circus performers in Venice anymore, although the great trapeze star Tito Gaona still teaches his craft and art at Tito Gaona's Trapeze Academy on the old Arena site at the end of Airport Road. However, Venice's beaches and parks are better than ever, there are more and better restaurants, and all services have improved.
