Venice Travel Planner logo   Hiking & Walking in Venice Florida
Everyone loves a stroll on the beach, but the walking possibilities go well beyond that in and around Venice

Certainly you'll want to wander the several beautiful beaches on Venice Island—and the beaches are so long that your walk can be a satisfying one.

But there are inland hikes as well. The Venetian Waterway Park has paths along both banks of the Intracoastal Waterway.

At the southern end, the paths connect to Caspersen Beach.

Just north of the drawbridge that carries Venice Avenue across the Intracoastal Waterway is the historic Venice train depot, a landmark along your way.

For more nature walks, drive north a short way to the two nearest Florida state parks: Myakka River State Park, and Oscar Scherer State Park. More...
