Pick your Venice beach, get there early, and plan to stay well after the sun goes down—sunset doesn't end the show by any means. The sun below the horizon can still shine up on the underside of the clouds, spreading incredible color. Hre's what I mean:
Note that tables at Sharky's on the Pier are in highest demand an hour before and during sunset, but you can buy a drink and climb to the upper lookout to enjoy the view. (No alcohol permitted outside the restaurant property.)
