Venice Travel Planner logo   Sharky's on the Pier Restaurant
Probably the best-known beachfront seafood restaurant in Venice Florida, it's noted for its sunset-view tables, live music, thatched Tiki bar, and closeness to the Venice Fishing Pier and its beach.

"The Pier" in the restaurant's name is the Venice Fishing Pier, which is as much of a draw as Sharky's on the Pier.

Among "Venetians" (citizens of Venice...Florida), one of the late afternoon's sublime activities is to retire to the beach for one of Venice's notably spectacular sunsets.

The Venice Fishing Pier is a favorite place for this, and if you can claim one of the tables (in high demand—even in August!) at Sharky's, you can watch the spectacular sunset, drink in hand and appetizers right at hand, with dinner to follow.

Sharky's does not take reservations for its outdoor (ie, sunset) tables, so it's first-come, first-served.

Hovering nonchalantly over diners in the late stages of their repast, ready to pounce as soon as they rise, has been developed to an art form at Sharky's.

Luckily for Sharkophiles, Sharky's has received permission and permits to expand substantially in the future, though whether that will make it easier to claim a sunset table at this extraordinarily popular watering hole remains to be seen.
